How to Create the Life You Want
Gerry Duffy  will share a series of simple yet powerful steps to help you and your students achieve their goals whether work related, personal goals or in any area of  life.

Workshop 1
R
efresh your life and work: How to embrace a better quality of life-Shane Martin

In this seminar psychologist Shane Martin will outline five simple practices linked to a greater inner-happiness and wellbeing. The hope is that it will uplift and inspire change in the lives of those who attend but even more importantly inspire participants to incorporate it into their homes, workplaces and communities

Workshop 2
Positive Education: Placing Well-Being at the Heart of Schools-Fiona Forman

Does our education system really value well-being and place it at the heart of school life? The growing number of children facing mental health challenges suggests that a greater emphasis on well-being in schools is needed, now more than ever. Positive Education is a model of education, based on Positive Psychology, which prioritises the well-being of the whole school community whilst also valuing the traditional aims of education. In this workshop, Fiona will offer some practical ideas and suggestions from Positive Education which may be helpful for anyone involved in the school community.

Workshop 3
Fostering positivity and resilience in children-Steve Lane

Do you feel that children lack resilience? Focus primarily on their failures rather than on their successes? Do children find it difficult to deal with challenging emotions? In this session, we will discuss how mind-sets become established and how, by understanding this, you can help change unproductive patterns of thinking and behaviour to create a more positive outlook on life and learning. ‘Knowledge is power’ and understanding how mindsets work is the first step towards creating more optimism, resilience, wellbeing and emotional self-awareness in children (and adults!).

Closing Presentation-Shane Martin
The Science of ‘Bouncibility’: How to sustain ourselves and children through challenging times

Resilience is the ability to adapt to the challenges of work and life. It’s about bouncing back rather than falling apart. Resilient people can thrive despite adversity, defy the odds and achieve positive outcomes despite misfortunes and setbacks.
This seminar will highlight evidence-based strategies linked to better outcomes during periods of upheaval in our personal and professional lives.
