Aoife has specially designed this course for primary teachers of EAL learners (junior infants – 2nd class) with a particular emphasis on lessons within a support teaching setting. It outlines the typical stages of an EAL lesson with learners aged 5 – 8 years, including research-informed strategies for effective practice and signposting links to appropriate corresponding resources for transfer to registrants’ own contexts. The webinar will conclude with an opportunity for questions and answers.
  • observe ways to approach planning for EAL teaching & learning
  • identify sample stages of an EAL lesson with junior primary pupils
  • acquire strategies and resources for EAL teaching in junior primary contexts

Aoife  Merrins Gallagher is a primary school teacher with experience in both mainstream and support positions since 2013.
