This **Blended Online Summer course is designed to empower teachers with fresh ideas and practical strategies for bringing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to life in the classroom. By exploring creative, integrated approaches, participants will gain a deeper understanding of STEM and how to embed it meaningfully across the curriculum.

Teachers will focus on core scientific and mathematical skills: observation, prediction, analysis, communication, and reflection, and examine how these can be developed from Junior Infants to 6th Class, including within Special Education settings.

Learning Outcomes
  • Designing enquiry-based science lessons grounded in real-world problem solving
  • Using the local environment as a rich source of scientific investigation
  • Integrating digital tools and virtual manipulatives to support maths and science understanding
  • Highlighting the natural connections between Mathematics and Science
  • Exploring the links between language development and STEM learning
  • Implementing effective formative assessment to track and support STEM progress
  • Embedding STEM within SESE through cross-curricular integration
  • Creating whole-school approaches to STEM teaching
  • Planning thematic units tailored to your class level and school context
By the end of the course, you will be equipped with practical strategies, ready-to-use resources, and a renewed enthusiasm for making STEM an exciting and accessible part of everyday learning.

**This flexible blended course includes just two live sessions on July 1st and July 3rd. By attending both, you will have completed 8 of the 20 hours required to qualify for 3 EPV days. The remaining 12 hours are self-paced, giving you the freedom to complete them anytime between July 1st and July 5th. If you choose, you can finish the full 20-hour course by as early as July 3rd.
